Circular Knitting Patterns

Modern golf knitwear is being designed specifically with the golfer in mind to accommodate some of the challenges unique to the golfing environment. As a result modern knitwear is easier to swing in and understands that you may, on occasion, have a bag strap over your shoulder.

A major improvement in modern knitwear manufacture has been the replacement of traditional flat warp knitting, with seamless circular knitting, whereby the entire three-dimensional garment is knitted in one piece.

This knitting technique eliminates the bulky and often annoying seams found under the arms, at the shoulders, and along the sides or cuffs of hand-knitted jerseys.

This 'seamlessness' allows modern golf knitwear to retain its shape and elasticity, even under the pressure, and friction, of the golfers' swing.

Add to this the non-piling properties of modern fibers and you have knitwear that is designed to perform in the sporting environment and will keep its shape and feel even after spending half the round tucked in your golf bag, or being chafed mercilessly by a bag strap.

Modern dyeing and finishing techniques have resulted in improved colour retention and fade resistance, which means modern knitwear can withstand the sometimes necessary abuse it undergoes on the course.

But even though manufacturers have embraced modern production methods, the old-world luxury and comfort of quality knitwear has been retained.

If you're looking for classic warmth and luxury to wear both on and off the course, come and look through our knitwear selection at the shop.

See for yourself the way that modern knitwear is designed and finished to perform in the golf environment.
